Remix. Africa in Translation: Cameroon
A five-part documentary series from the former German colonies
by: Nadja Ofuatey-Alazard & Nicolas Grange
The Cameroonian port city of Douala was one of the first places where German representatives signed so-called "protectorate treaties" with local rulers. Cameroon became an important venue for the transatlantic enslavement trade. What role does the colonial past play for the African present? This is the central question of the ReMIX project, for which the producer Nadja Ofuatey-Alazard and the director Nicolas Grange traveled to former German colonies on the African continent.
Includes an interview with George Ngwane of AFRICAphonie.
